EXTENSION 04: KERALA (5 Nights / 6 Days)
Day 12: Cochin-Munnar
On arrival at Cochin Airport greeted by our representative and
proceed the journey to Munnar. This beautiful hill station was
once the summer capital of the British Government in India. The
never ending vast expense of tea plantations and the round the
year moderate climate makes it a little haven for visitors. Check
in to the hotel. Day at leisure. Overnight at Munnar.
Day 13: Munnar
After break fast proceed for sight seeing in Munnar. Top
Station offers panoramic view of the neighboring state of Tamil
Nadu. Then to echo point and Mattuppetty Dam. Speed boating
facilities are available here. Forests and vast expanse of
grassland on one side and the Kundala tea plantation on the other
flank the dam. Overnight stay at Munnar.
Day 14: Munnar – Kumarakom
After break fast proceed to Kumarakom. Check into the hotel. Day
at leisure (you can have Ayurvedic rejuvenation at the hotel) and
overnight at Kumarakom.
Day 15: Kumarakom
Morning after breakfast proceed for Kumarakom Bird Sanctury visit.
Bird sanctuary is located on the banks of the Vembanad Lake; the
Bird sanctuary is spread across 14 acres. The Kumarakom Bird
Sanctuary, an ornithologist’s Paradise is a favourite haunt of
migratory birds like the Siberian strok, egret, darter, heron and
teal.
A visit to the bird sanctuary, set within the lush Acres of wooded
land nearby, acquaints you to the Variety of migratory birds that
flock in thousands some from the Himalayas, some even from as far
as Siberia. In addition, you can get thrilled of native
Kingfishers ablaze in psychedelic colures, experience walk under
rookeries of egrets and night herons or lone golden-backed
woodpeckers and even delight in the acrobatics of the paradise
fly-catchers.
Day 16: Kumarakom-Alleppey
After break fast drive to Alleppey and by 12 noon check in at
the Houseboat for a boating through the legendary backwaters of
Kerala. On the way you will witness a full range of lives and
activities and some mind-boggling sceneries. Overnight in the
Houseboat.
Day 17: Alleppey-Cochin
After break fast, check out from the houseboat and proceed to
Cochin Airport/railway station for return journey.
